Re: Work Trip Reminder (This Saturday, the 11th)
Hello friends,
Want to get outdoors, but a little too warm for you? How better to escape the summer
heat than by moving to higher altitude!
The NC/TN work trip is coming up this Saturday and you're invited. Due to the extreme
drought (and slow-running spring at the planned campsite), the backpack part of this trip was cancelled. But there will still be carcamping on both Friday and Saturday nights.
(No work is planned for Sunday.)
Brushing will be the order of the day so if you have a weedeater, please feel welcome to bring it along. There will be swingblades available, also.
The announcement from the website goes:
Tennessee/North Carolina Work Trip: On this special outing high on the state line
between Tennessee and North Carolina, work and carcamping will be available Friday
and/or Saturday on section 16, the toughest one maintained by the BMTA. Join us in the cooler air above 3000 feet. Brush work will be the top priority. For meeting and carpool
arrangements, contact trip leader Eric Eades, dawg1980@hotmail.com, 706-226-7791 or
706-313-0873.
At last count, there were seven signed up. Increase that number, if you'd like.
