David Blount here reaching out to personally invite you and others to the Annual Meeting of the
BMTA to be held the weekend of November 4-6 at Coker Creek Village, Tennessee. While I can't
guarantee perfect weather, it should be ideal for hiking and taking in the last of the fall colors.
Coker Creek is a scenic setting to spend a day or two just relaxing if hiking is not your choice for
the weekend. There are several pretty drives within 30 minutes of Coker Creek, if leaf watching
appeals, most notably highway 64 through the Ocoee Gorge and the Cherohala Skyway which
runs between Tellico Plains, TN and Robbinsville, NC.


For a change of pace and to bring a little levity to our Saturday evening activities, we are having
a country hoedown after the business meeting and dinner. A member of the Coker Creek staff
will provide music and instruction as he "calls" country dances. In my limited experience with
this type of dancing, it is easy to learn and nearly impossible to perform without a grin on your
face. It will be a good "ice breaker" for our newer members as we get to know each other better.


I hope you can join us for the weekend, a day, or just Saturday evening. To allow for planning
of meals and staff, I need you to make your plans by or before Wednesday, October 26. Just go
to our web site www.bmta.org and click the annual meeting link on the home page. The on-site
cabins are all reserved but there is still plenty of space available in the men's or women's
bunkhouses. We are set up to take PayPal for the bunk house and your selection of meals. If
you opt to send a check to the BMTA P O Box instead, please e-mail me at bmtahiker@aol.com
with a summary of your selection so I know your payment is on the way and to include you in
our planning.
