Activities for the rest of November:

November 19 - Fun Hike on the Tapoco Section, by the Tennessee / North Carolina border north
of Robbinsville, NC. Easy trip with three miles on flat gravel road and then a bit less than two
more miles up and over a ridge. Great views into the Joyce Kilmer Slickrock Wilderness and the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Call Trip Leader Dick Evans at 828-479-2503 to register.
Meeting place is the McDonalds in Robbinsville, leaving at 9 AM. Folks coming from the north
can meet us at the upper parking area at Cheoah Dam at 9:45. After the hike, we'll all go back
to Dick and Margaret's house for chili.

November 26 - Plan on working off some of the Thanksgiving turkey with a work trip in Tennessee.
Tentative plans are to meet on Nov 26 behind the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center in Tellico
Plains at 9 AM (or 8:30 AM at Tellico Grains for breakfast). If you are coming from far south,
then you could just meet us at the Coker Creek Campsite down at the end of FS 22B close to
where Coker Creek joins the Hiwassee River around 10 AM. From there we will shuttle up to
TN 68 crossing to start our work for the day. Some people may choose to work uphill from Coker
Creek till they meet those coming downhill. Call Rick Harris at 423-253-6358 home or
