Dear Benton MacKaye Trail Association Member,
First, let me apologize for not putting out a Newsletter in January. We hope to do better.
Second, this issue has some work trip reports going back as far as September, plus lots of other
information, so I divided it into two parts. The first part has the schedule and general information and
can be read at:
http://www.bmta.org/BMTAeNewsletter4U/BMTA_Newsletter_February_2011-General.pdf.
The second part has Work Trip Reports, some going back to September, That part can be read at:
http://www.bmta.org/BMTAeNewsletter4U/BMTA_Newsletter_February_2011-Work_Trip_Reports.pdf.
In addition, we have a third part specifically relating to those interested in National Forests in Georgia.
The Chattahoochee/Oconee National Forests announced (on January 28th) a series of public meetings,
starting in mid-February, to discuss the National Forests with interested members of the public.
The schedule of the meetings is on the link below, and I urge those of you who can attend to do so.
That link is at:
http://www.bmta.org/BMTAeNewsletter4U/BMTA_Newsletter_February_2011-Public_Meetings.pdf.
Just as a general comment, if we have an inclement weather cancellation, we are going to try to post it
on our Facebook page as well as on the Web Site.
Remember to give the designated Trip Leader a call for any activities that post one, as some trips have
group size requirements, carpool issues and the like. That way, the Trip Leader can contact you directly
in event of changes.
Come join us on the Trail!
Best regards,
Dick Evans
