Fellow BMTA members,
Liz Burlingame and Eric Eades are spearheading a program, sponsored by the
BMTA, in conjunction with Save Georgia's Hemlocks. Hemlock trees are being
destroyed by an insect called the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). See
www.savegeorgiashemlocks.org. On Saturday September 26, starting at 8:30
am, a clinic on the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid will be held at the Cherry Log
Mountain Pavilion in Cherry Log, Georgia. If you own property with Hemlocks
or are interested in volunteering to help fellow BMTA members treat Hemlock
trees along our trail, this will be a very informative meeting. Check out
the attachment.
Directions to Cherry Log Mountain Pavilion are as follows:
Following US76(GA5) to mile marker 21, turn West onto J.Sisson Road.
Continue until road goes through covered bridge and then turn immediately
right onto single lane gravel road. Follow road to end to get to pavilion.
If you are interested in attending this meeting, please let me know by email
at rshatl@etcmail.com. Also, we would like to know if you would be
interested in the training portion of the clinic. Attendance will be limited
due to the size of the facility.
TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE, PLEASE RSVP BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH.
Ralph Heller
President BMTA
