Other work done: As you anticipated in your previous e-mail, the situation in the
beginning area of the Section 2b (just past No Name Gap) didn’t look good. The trail
was very steep and much eroded so that I could imagine how it would look like in
rain. Since switchbacks or trail relocations are beyond our authority, we concentrated
our efforts on how to divert the water flow from the given trails. Sometimes we just
cleaned waterbars and drainage ditches, clearing of silt and debris, and in other times
we installed waterbars for water diversions.


ADDITIONAL WORK NEEDED: (Say where, if possible)

Clear vegetation:
Remove blow downs:
Side hill to reshape tread: We need some sidehill work about a quarter of a mile before
the Bryson Gap from south.
Clean or build water diversions: We need more water diversions in the same place
where we worked today.
Paint or repaint blazes:
Add or replace signs: Need to put up the ‘No Name Gap’ signage
