Annual Meeting Locations, Times

FRIDAY NIGHT, NOV. 2

For those coming early for the hikes we have a meal together, everyone at her/his
own expense, in downtown Blairsville. Be at Cobb's Mill Restaurant at 6:00 p.m.
No reservation necessary. Cobb's Mill is located one block west of the old brick
courthouse (now historical society) with tower clock on U.S. 19. It is also next to the
Best Western Motel - that can be entered off U.S. 76 - the restaurant is in the same
parking lot as the motel.

SATURDAY EVENING, NOV. 3 - ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting with 51 attending begins promply at 6:00 p.m. with the serving of
dinner by prior reservation only. Location is the Univ. of GA Mountain Research and
Education Center (formerly Mountain Research Center) located on U.S. 19/129 three
miles south of the old town square courthouse in Blairsville (now the historical society).

TO ARRIVE THERE:

From Blairsville: Go south of the old courthouse square on U.S. 19 three miles. On your
left you see the sign for the center and also, immediately at the turn, there is a road mile
marker green-and-white "10" - reading that number from both directions. Going south
it is on the left. Turn left on that first road and go to the top of the knoll, bear left around
the brick building, and park in the rear.

From Neels Gap: Go north some miles past Vogel State Park and both turnoffs for
Hwy. 180. Stay on U.S. 19. Soon on the left spot the stores and restaurant at "Pappy's
Riverwalk"; continue almost two miles past Pappy's until you see the signs for the
Mountain Research and Education Center. Take the third entrance to the right, just yards
before the green-and-white "10" road mile marker. Go up the knoll to the brick center,
turn left and go to the parking in the back.

All of you by now have, hopefully, received the hike schedule.
